Bewulf's fame

I think Bewulf's quest for fame is selfish. He wants his name as high as possible and everyone to love him. That is very arognant and very selfish. Bewulf says, "He who can earn it should fight for the glory of his name; fame after death is the noblest of goals."(1387-1389) I think this shows all his fighting isn't to save people it is for fame of his name after he dies. He doesnt want to help people he just wants to look good. What does it matter if your name lives on a long time after you die as long as you know in your heart you were a good person? I think Bewulf's way of think that fame is everything is very selfish.

The Fifth Child Cover

I think that the forth cover fits the story the best. It shows Ben look outside the window. I think this shows how Ben is alway look from the outside in. Ben is never consider normal. He ruins the family. He is dislike by all is family members and tears the family apart. Ben when he was young was always locked in his room not to show his face to anyone. He was not allowed in with the family he only heard the fun like him looking out the window at the world but not begin able to go out there and be accepted. "Ben went back into his own room, "the baby's room"- and from there they heard his grunts and snuffkes and roars of frustation as he tried som feat of strenght and fell down." (Lessing p56) He was hiden from the parties to look from the outside and just like the window he look at the world from the outside in never to be accepted.

A little monster in all of us

I think that the quote Christopher Shildt says in the article is very ture. We can all relate to the creature. Everyone of us has felt out of the ordinary felt that we didn't fit. I think Mary Shelly was teally trying to show how she felt in her life and how all of us feell once in a while. We all feel suffering, loss and pain like expressed in Frankstein.

I know I have felt all of these feelings. I have felt like an outcast just like the monster did when the family he was watching treated him cruely. the creature say "cursed, cursed creator! Why do I live? Why, in that instants, did I not extinguish the spark of existence which you had so wantonly bestowed?"(p125) I think all of us have want to disapear and felt no one liked us. We all have felt his pain he has gone through. I agree with Shildt that " there is a little creature in all of us"

Frankensrein Reaction

I belive Victor Frankenstien had a great life growing up. He had loving parents and also two loving brothers. His parents also adopted Elizabeth. Elizabeth is a gift for Victor. Victor is suppose to marry Elizabeth. His life was a normal life untill he went to college at Ingolstadt.

There he became crazy wanting to create a monster. He wanted to be like god. He collected bodies parts and worked day and night neglecting his family to create this creature. He ignore his family while doing this. Elizabeth says during this time in a letter the "yet one word from you, dear Victor, nescessary to calm out apprehensions. (pg52) He let his project take away from his whole family

When the creature came alive though Victor hated it and fleed from it. The creature was all alone. While the people on this earth hated him and found him gross looking. For example when he enters the people house he has been watching for a long time long to be with them is "Agatha fainted, Safie unable to attend to her friend, rushed out of the cottage. Felix darted fowardd and with supernatural force tore me from his father, to whoose knees I clung of fury, he dashed me to the ground and struck me violently with a stick."(pgs 123-124) Now all the creature is asking for is a mate and Victor doesnt know what he is going to do.

I think Victor should have never created the creature. He first neglected his love ones to created. Then he was disgusted by it. Now he won't even give the creature a friend, a mate who will love and care for them. I think that all living thinf desver to one friend to care for them and love them. Victor might not even give the creature that right. Victor should have never made a creature if he wasn't going to care for it.
